Owyhee County jail visitation and bail

Visiting someone at Owyhee County Jail

Visits are by video through CTEL — from kiosks in the Sheriff's Office lobby in Murphy or remotely from a computer or smartphone. Create a CTEL account first (inmatesales.com or 877-998-5678), then schedule at least 24 hours in advance; you can't book more than one week out. People in disciplinary segregation may only see attorneys and clergy.

No fixed visiting-hours schedule is published — available slots appear in the CTEL scheduling system.

How bail works in Owyhee County

Owyhee County does not publish a bond-posting procedure online. Call the jail at (208) 495-1154 for instructions before driving out — the Sheriff's Office front counter in Murphy is open Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Licensed bail bond agents can also arrange posting for you.

Idaho allows licensed bail bond agents; a bond agent posts the full bail for a non-refundable premium they quote up front. You can also pay the full amount yourself directly to the jail or court, and it is returned when the case ends if all court dates are met (minus any fees the court applies).
